Grace Jolicoeur received her BA in Fine Arts and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She spent a transformative year training in an ashram in North India, deepening her study of Vedic and Tantric philosophy, meditation, and yoga. With over 1,000 hours of yoga teacher training, Grace has taught at yoga festivals and retreats around the world. She has also created immersive art installations and led mindfulness-based art workshops that support emotional and sensory presence.
Her work explores the cohabitation of stillness and movement, masculine and feminine, effort and ease—resulting in meditative color-scapes and biomorphic abstractions. Influenced by Tantric views of the universe, she depicts the unity between the microcosm and the macrocosm, inviting a felt sense of interconnection.
Grace is currently exploring a wave motif—both linear and logical while fluid and emotional. These layered lines often appear simultaneously still and in motion, evoking a kind of visual hovering, like watching water shimmer. A byproduct of each line wave is a space- the concept that "nature abhors a vacuum" gives logic to these spaces being gently filled.
Her paintings pulse between looking like something and looking like nothing, giving the viewer space to contemplate or fully let go. It is used as a visual tool for grounding, reflection, and nervous system regulation—offering an embodied support to the healing process. Through color, form, and rhythm, her work cultivates spaciousness and invites a return to simplicity and balance.
Rooted in experience, Grace’s work carries an autobiographical tone. Each painting offers a glimpse into her inner inquiry and intuitive knowing.
Her art plays with the sense and the science of wellbeing.
